Abstract

This paper investigates a possible implementation of burst mode in Modular Active Cell control. Since Modular Active Cells connected to a common transformer are controlled locally, a method for distributed burst-mode operation is investigated. The developed burst-mode strategy is based on a simple state machine whose transition conditions rely on locally measurable quantities. The findings are evaluated using an experimental energy-router setup.
