Due to the different levels of inflammatory activity and disease-related complications, nutritional care must be individually adapted to the patient’s needs. Regular evaluation of the patient’s nutritional status is essential to ensure optimal nutritional health. Validated screening procedures should be used for this purpose. The following review is intended to provide a practical overview of nutritional management for patients with IBD in everyday clinical practice. This chapter deals with the following topics: Recording and relevance of nutritional status Nutritional management for active disease and in remission Nutritional therapy for malnutrition Nutritional measures for complications
