PREDICTION OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE USING AN AI DRIVEN SCREENING PLATFORM

Project details

Scientific Abstract

Spotting dementia early
Early treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias offers the best chance to slow progression. But most healthcare systems are still unprepared for the shift towards much earlier detection. The EU-funded PREDICTOM project aims to build an open-source, interoperable biomarker screening platform that brings diagnostics much closer to the patient. Using home-collected samples such as finger-prick blood, saliva, and stool, alongside innovative technologies such as MRI, EEG, eye tracking, and digital tools, the project will identify those at high risk. AI tools will be used to integrate biomarker data to guide personalised interventions. By creating scalable, cost-efficient screening and informing new clinical guidelines, PREDICTOM hopes to ease the personal and financial burden of dementia across Europe and beyond.
