Short description

In addition to the focus on the "Neolithic and Copper Age in Moldavia", the Professorshop of Late Prehistory is also dedicated to the Roman era in Romania. On the one hand, with the project on the Roman fort and vicus Razboieni, and on the other hand - although "only" as a cooperation partner in the technical field - the classical ancient and late ancient cities in the mouth of the Danube and in the plains of the Dobruja. Over many centuries, settlements with massive fortifications and extensive outlying settlements and cemeteries developed here. For more detailed information on the individual sites, please refer to the pages of the project partners.

The cooperation partners are the Archaeological Institute of the Romanian Academy, Department Iași (Prof. Dr. A. Rubel), and the Institute for Pre- and Protohistory of the LMU Munich (Prof. Dr. B. Päffgen).
