Short description

The course is set to contain fourteen sessions (work packages), that will be structured into bigger, more encompassing overall structures. It is meant to introduce the students to basic analytical tools that are available in R, from coding, to modeling and analyzing, but also to the vastly overlooked components in data science i.e.,  data manipulation, professional data visualization and well as coherent, reproducible communication of scientific results. All these aspects are critical to a successful completion of presentations, short reports and students thesis (be it bachelor, master or even PhDs).

Scientific Abstract

Der Kurs, der in diesem Projekt entwickelt wird, soll die Studierenden in die

grundlegenden analytischen Werkzeuge einführen, die in R zur Verfügung stehen, von der
Kodierung über die Modellierung und Analyse, aber auch Datenaufbereitung, professionelle
Datenvisualisierung und sowie kohärente, reproduzierbare Kommunikation
wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisse, Aspekte, die für den erfolgreichen Abschluss von
Präsentationen, Kurzberichten und studentischen Arbeiten (sei es Bachelor, Master oder
Doktorarbeit) entscheidend sind.
