The conference aims at an international comparative analysis of internationalization of schools as school development. International experts address key features and developments in different national systems of education with regard to internationalization and focus on the question how schools develop their concepts of internationalization under regional and local conditions. They also discuss the question to what degree internationalization may be regarded as an aspect of school quality and analyze intended and unintended effects of internationalization in schools. Researchers and interested practitioners are invited to participate in the conference. The conference seeks to make a contribution to the systematic theoretical and empirical knowledge about internal processes of internationalization in schools as school development and the role of the context of the national systems of education for internationalization strategies. Practitioners will get a systematic overview of approaches towards internationalization in different countries for reflective internationalization activities with partner schools.
Das Ziel der Tagung ist eine international vergleichende Analyse der Internationalisierung von Einzelschulen im Prozess der Schulentwicklung. Referenten aus Deutschland und dem Ausland analysieren unterschiedliche nationale Kontexte der Internationalisierung und gehen der Frage nach, wie Einzelschulen Internationalisierung unter Beachtung der regionalen und lokalen Bedingungskonstellationen im Prozess der Schulentwicklung gestalten. Darüber hinaus wird diskutiert, inwieweit Internationalität als Aspekt der Schulqualität (als Kriterium für eine „gute Schule“) in den jeweiligen Ländern gilt und welche Wirkungen und (nicht-intendierte) Nebenwirkungen der Internationalisierungsprozesse dabei beobachtet werden. Die Tagung richtet sich an WissenschaftlerInnen sowie forschungsinteressierte SchuleiterInnen, LehrerInnen und Studierende, die sich mit der Internationalisierung der Schule befassen. Ergebnisse der Tagung sollen einen Betrag zur Systematisierung des theoretischen und empirischen Wissens über Praktiken der Internationalisierung als Schulentwicklungsprozess und über die Bedeutung der national-kulturellen Kontexte und der institutionellen Rahmenbedingungen der Schulsysteme für Internationalisierungsstrategien leisten. Für Praktiker sollen Ergebnisse der Tagung eine wissenschaftlich fundierte Orientierung für möglicherweise unterschiedliche Verständnisse der Internationalisierung in den jeweiligen Partnerländern und für eine reflektierte Gestaltung von internationalen Aktivitäten mit Partnerschulen im Ausland bieten.
