Nivedita Agarwal completed her Bachelors in Electronics Engineering and Masters in Business Administration from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in 2008. After a 5-year-stint in the consulting industry, she went on to pursue her PhD at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, Germany. In her dissertation she compared the innovation landscape of developed and developing markets, specifically focusing on new product development strategies and constraint-based innovations in the Healthcare sector.
After finishing her PhD in 2015, she worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher for two years at the Chair of Information Systems – Innovation and Value creation. There she studied how the digital revolution is enabling newer forms of user innovations and service ecosystems.
She has published articles in several peer reviewed academic journals such as the Journal of Business Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management and International journal of Technology Management. Moreover, Nivedita also is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Venturing.
In May 2018, she joined the Chair of Technology Management as Assistant Professor.
Her research interest is in the area of constraint-based innovation, with a special focus on BoP markets, new product development and social entrepreneurship.
