The interaction between deformation twinning and dislocation slip is fundamental to the mechanical behavior of face-centered cubic (FCC) metals. This study presents a coupled crystal plasticity and phase-field framework, implemented using an FFT-based spectral full-field method, to investigate post-nucleation twin growth and its interaction with evolving dislocation structures. The model incorporates dislocation density-dependent resistance to twin boundary migration, twin boundary-mediated dislocation absorption, and distance-dependent slip resistance inside thin twin lamellae. Full-field simulations show that local dislocation accumulation retards twin boundary migration and increases the macroscopic shear response. Migrating twin boundaries reduce the dislocation density mainly within the swept twinned region, while having a limited influence on the surrounding untwinned matrix and overall twin morphology. The model also captures the redistribution of coplanar and non-coplanar slip activities inside and around twin lamellae, leading to heterogeneous accumulation of geometrically necessary dislocations near twin boundaries and twin tips. Additional simulations show that the initial post-nucleation configuration, including embryo placement and the number of embryos, affects the subsequent twin morphology, mechanical response, and dislocation density evolution. Overall, this work provides a full-field modeling framework for analyzing dislocation-twin boundary interactions during forward twin growth in FCC metals.
