Abstract

The increasing demand for observability and controllability in low-voltage grids has led to the widespread deployment of measurement devices, such as smart meters, which generate large volumes of data streams that must be processed to enable advanced monitoring, analysis, and optimization. Digital Twins have emerged as a powerful concept for integrating and managing such data in real-time. However, the performance and reliability of a Digital Twin are critically dependent on the quality of the input data. This paper presents a framework for handling data flows from distributed measurement devices to a Digital Twin using the MQTT protocol for efficient data transmission. Particular emphasis is placed on evaluating data quality using Python-based methods, enabling the identification and mitigation of issues such as missing values, outliers, and inconsistent timestamps in the incoming data streams.
