Abstract
Today’s electrical power grids are not equipped to meet the demands of future energy systems. In response, the Kopernikus project ENSURE brings together researchers, grid operators, technology providers, and civil society organizations to develop integrated solutions. By combining key elements such as monitoring, control, protection, and DC technology across high, medium, and low voltage levels, the project enables a reliable energy supply under increasingly variable and decentralized conditions. Active community involvement and transparent goal-setting contribute to greater public acceptance, minimize potential conflicts, and create a foundation for long-term, sustainable infrastructure investments. This session will present the key findings of 10 years Kopernikus initiative in Germany, that ends in 2026.
