Abstract

In light of skills shortages and increasing specialisation, inhouse professional development programmes are gaining strategic importance. Interactive, multimedia-based teaching approaches are becoming increasingly attractive. This article analyses the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) into synchronous teaching formats and presents the findings of a practical study conducted as part of a university course on Lean Management. In a virtualised manufacturing environment, students identified wastes and developed countermeasures. The results show a high level of acceptance: AR was perceived as motivating and conducive to learning. The concept can be transferred to in-company training and provides a practice-oriented framework for didactically sound AR integration.
