OS-APS shifts monograph publishing from PDF-centric typesetting to media-neutral production. At FAU University Press, a single-source workflow simultaneously outputs PDF, EPUB, HTML, and JATS/BITS XML; the OS-APS Reader delivers accessible use aligned with BFSG 2025. For book-specific logic – indexes, multiple counters, extensive footnote apparatus – PrinceXML is preferred, while paged.js remains adequate for journals. Template-driven intake (Word/LaTeX), minimal reformatting, and direct editor export shorten production, cut errors, and reallocate effort from manual styling to structured markup. Machine-readable distribution increases reach and indexability across catalogues and AI systems. OS-APS lowers entry barriers for small presses by meeting accessibility and XML requirements without post-hoc tagging. This report positions OS-APS as robust infrastructure for Diamond Open Access and a blueprint for series and edited volumes at university presses. By late 2025 the monograph workflow will be consolidated within the community. Early trials indicate tangible time savings, consistent typography across series, and improved discoverability via structured metadata pipelines.
