Abstract

We report a compact and passively stable optical parametric oscillator for direct generation of sub-40 fs pulses, five times shorter than the 200 fs pump oscillator. By employing an intracavity all normal dispersion feedback fiber, we achieved low-noise and coherent broadening beyond the parametric gain bandwidth limitation. We demonstrate spectral coverage from 1.1 to 2.0 μm with excellent passive power and spectral stability below 0.1% rms and a footprint smaller than 14×14 cm2. c 2022 Optica Publishing Group.
