Abstract

The status of the two PANDA DIRC detectors at the new FAIR accelerator is reviewed. For the Endcap Disc DIRC, a summary of its current design – optics and readout – as well as some results of prototype tests at particle beams will be given. Primarily, the final design of the optics and readout of the Barrel DIRC will be presented, along with key results from prototype tests showing that a cost-optimized configuration achieves a pion/kaon separation performance of >3σ across the entire accessible phase space. Furthermore, information on the mechanical setup, pollution tests of the synthetic fused silica glass bars, and series-production of the radiator bars and photon sensors will be provided. The future steps are briefly discussed.
