Abstract
This chapter discusses solar fuel generation via photocatalysis using nanostructured TiO2, particularly on the detailed advancements in hydrogen production from water splitting/organic substrates, CO2 reduction to fuels, and nitrogen fixation for ammonia synthesis. Key challenges addressed in the design of novel TiO2 photocatalysts that include the development of noble-metal-free alternatives, single-atom photocatalysts, and innovative heterojunction structures to improve overall efficiency. The challenges for future industrial applications have been discussed in this chapter as well.
