Abstract

In cancer patients, pain and therapy-related pain are rather common. Prophylaxis, causative treatment, and mechanism-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological options can - individually applied - lead to adequate pain control and a better quality of life. The basic treatment algorithms and drugs for pain caused by cancer and by anticancer therapy with particular focus on neuropathic pain are discussed here.
