Abstract

The measurements provide a deeper understanding of particle release during the fettling processes of aluminum and ferrous castings. A combination of continuous measurement technology and a decentralized Bluetooth mesh sensor network is employed to precisely capture particle dynamics. In addition, a zonal flow approach is used to model particle dispersion. Within the scope of this experimental series, various ventilation scenarios are simulated to derive technical recommendations for improving air quality. Particular attention is given to compliance with the general dust exposure limits in accordance with the German Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances (TRGS) 900 to ensure a healthy working environment. The combination of measurement and simulation methods provides a robust basis for evaluating potential technical protective measures and enables resource-efficient scenario analysis in an industrial context.
