Abstract

Chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is one of the most challenging procedures in interventional cardiology. Careful planning of the procedure and in-depth knowledge of the equipment and potential pitfalls are pivotal when approaching the field of CTO-PCI. The key principles of CTO-PCI will be presented, along with the essential tools, important considerations for antegrade and retrograde approaches, and experts' tips and tricks applicable to each specific setting.
