Abstract

Fiber collimator arrays (FCAs) are useful for an efficient coupling of light in or out of parallel fibers. For the design of FCAs a new straightforward method, the „differentiated worst case analysis“, has been developed in this thesis. The reliability was examined employing an actual system. For a cost efficient and precise Manufacturing of FCAs the applicability of laser based micro alignment was investigated and approved by simulations and tests.
