Abstract

In this work the complex process of laser transmission welding of thermoplastics has been studied in detail. The influences of various process steps on parts quality were evaluated. Based on these results new strategies for monitoring and controlling of the laser welding process were derived. The combination with an enhanced receiving inspection lead to an increased robustness of the process and a decrease of failure costs.
