Abstract

The wide range of "digital platforms" leads to controversial technical, business and political discussions. Based on a value added perspective, 85 industrial B2B platform examples were analysed. A systematic methodology was used to identify recurring business model components based on the underlying value networks. This publication explains the identified business model patterns for digital B2B platforms, such as IIoT platforms, intermediary platforms or e-shops.
