Abstract

This contribution to the Encyclopedia of Mathematical Physics provides an overview of some quantum field theory models on two-dimensional Minkowski space that have been constructed in the framework of algebraic quantum field theory. A variety of different construction techniques is explained, and the role of the two-dimensionality of the considered spacetime in these constructions is highlighted.
