Abstract

Cyber-Physical Production Systems (CPPS) help to cope with complexity and offer the computing platforms for sophisticated data analytics in smart factories. Nevertheless, in the operation of CPPS, the integration of tacit knowledge of the human as a maintainer has not been considered yet for the improvement of monitoring and diagnosis processes in production systems. The basic motivation for this publication is the development of a framework for technical maintenance systems in the context of a cyber-physical production environment, which conforms to the reference architectural model of Industry 4.0 (RAMI 4.0). The aim of the proposed solution is a systematic link between the information available by machine data acquisition with the tacit knowledge of humans to attain a high level of transparency in plant operation. The implementation is based on web technologies and platforms that are suitable for the implementation of CPPS and usability-optimized HMI. The validation of the system is accomplished by a diagnosis system with the energy consumption of a six-Axis handling unit in a demonstrator cell for mechatronic assemblies.
