This paper presents the utilization of the image processing technique known as digital image correlation for X-ray dynamic defectoscopy purpose. Digital image correlation is a non-contact technique (optical or X-ray) that provides full-field and high resolution measurement of deformation fields within an object subjected to loading. In this case it was used for crack detection in a bar specimen subjected to tension loading.
