Since the first successful integrations of additive manufacturing processes into industrial production, the achievable component qualities, such as geometric accuracy and surface quality, have improved significantly. Hence, such processes are often used for the manufacturing of directly usable components. Nevertheless, the deviations caused by the generative production principles are inevitably and strongly dependent on the respective machine. To address these aspects in the tolerance-driven design of additively manufactured components, a procedure for the acquisition of machine-specific component deviations is presented and applied to a revolute joint as an example.
