In the long term, the cooperation between the central department for IT services of the AUDI AG and the institute of engineering design of the Friedrich-Alexander University aims for integration autonomous design in the deployment of virtual vehicles. To structure this task, a roadmap showing and arranging the upcoming steps is necessary similar to the roadmap towards autonomous driving. However, integration and deployment of data-driven solutions into the development processes differs widely to driving. First, the grade of automation is not homogenous across the development processes. Second, identifying useful solutions to a given task in the design process is difficult.
