Innovative health technology is in great demand and offers high potentials for all involved stake-holders (e.g. health industry, patients, hospitals). ProHTA is an approach that uses simulation to indicate the effects of new technologies early before the expensive and risky development pro-cess begins. Another goal is to find gaps and bottlenecks in the health care system to catch poten-tials for new health technologies. This approach uses hybrid simulation consisting of system dy-namics models for macro simulation and agent-based models to simulate individual scenarios. Example use-cases of ProHTA are in particular stroke therapy and the oncology domain. Stroke therapy will be the primary focus and known effects and data of the thrombolysis will be used to validate the simulation models before predicting the impact of new technologies. ProHTA is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is a part of the Center of Excellence for Medical Technology.
