Abstract

This paper involves the development of a dynamic model for a resonant dc-dc converter topology recently proposed at the University of Toronto. The model makes use of the conservation of energy principle. This dynamic model employs an averaging technique, since converter switching is neglected. A simple test network for validation of the proposed model is developed. Based on the validated model, a concept for closed loop control of the system, including the selection of which variables are optimal to control, is determined.
