The properties of the surface waves generated with a vertical concentration due to mass transfer through a liquid surface was reported. The behaviour of a single and counter-rotating two dimensional wave trains in annular-ring container was observed. The dispersion relation of these surface waves was compared with the theoretical predictions. The wave modulation of wave trains led to changed wave number revealed an energy exchange between crests. A solitonic behaviour was shown by the wave interaction due to oblique crest and head-on collisions and wall reflections at various angles.
