The paper focuses upon the practical reality of eLearning in Higher Education (HE) and primarily addresses issues related to both web based (WBT) or computer aided learning (CAL) and continuing professional development within the educational arena. Our major interest rests upon introducing new teaching and learning routines and enhancing their unanimous acceptance. This is best to be achieved if a higher retention program for online courseware providers and students reduces attrition by increased expertise, quality, interaction and customized support services. These features are also part to the common strategy of dropout prevention. To ensure students receive a quality online learning experience we suggest that a peer or tutor-assisted model is formally adopted as a default position for the online programs and courses.
