Scientific Abstract

Fat/water separation (FWS) and the calculation of tissue fat fraction are crucial steps in various quantitative MRI techniques. However, with increasing magnetic field strength, FWS becomes more challenging due to the higher resonance frequency. The goal of this project is to improve FWS at 7 Tesla through a new measurement technique. A radial pulse sequence with quasi-continuous echo time sampling will be developed, and image artifacts will be reduced by using a dynamic field camera.
