The ReMODE: Unlocking Circular Fashion Excellence (Call: ERASMUS-EDU-2024-PEX-COVE) promotes the reskilling, training and education of the EU workforce to support the European vision towards a more human-centered and ethical development of digital and green economies.
The textile and clothing sector is economically significant and has a big role to play in the transition to a circular economy. It accounts for the fourth highest negative impact on the environment and climate change and third highest for water and land use from a global life cycle perspective. The EU is adopting several policies to promote sustainability into the production processes, including the European Commission's Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles and the proposal directive Regulation on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products. The strategy is based on three main pillars: transitioning to sustainable production, promoting circular business models, and fostering more responsible consumer behavior.
ReMode will create and empower 5 CoVEs in 5 different countries to promote learning hubs of excellence through the design, test and spread of a multi-sectorial, innovative and customizable curriculum for eco-driven upskilling and reskilling of professionals involved in the textile and fashion industry. It will exploit the synergy between community, industry, education, training, scientific and business sectors, enabling learners to acquire specific skills and competencies, strictly aligned to the market needs. It will follow a needs-centered approach, detecting, monitoring and addressing the current gaps in VET ecosystem and the missing competencies into the fashion labour market.
