The research stay will enhance the transfer of knowledge between FAU and IIT Roorkee in the field of groundwater flooding. FAU has large experience in sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification, while IIT has a strong focus on extreme flood events. Prof. Chiogna (FAU) and Prof. Agarwal (IIT) have already started beginning 2025 a collaboration by supervising an Indian PhD student who won a DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) grant and is currently doing her research at FAU. The research stay will strengthen the already initiated collaboration between the German and Indian institutions. In addition, the visit could be beneficial for both the research teams by laying the foundation for the initiation of a new project.
