In accordance with the Climate Action Plan 2050, Germany is to become predominantly greenhouse gas-neutral by 2050, and though the mobility as well. A mobility cost analyses of fully CO₂-free mobility (well-to-wheel) predicts a shared market of fully electrified vehicles with a dominant combustion vehicle part using synthetic fuels from wind and solar energy1, so called e-fuels. The “Engine Combustion Network” ECN (https://ecn.sandia.gov/) is an approach to supply experimental data and a platform for discussion for CFD modelling. Due to the challenging tasks in this research a global network of pre-competitive character is needed for significant progress. The advantages are, that the ECN data is extended with spray measurements in terms of additional operation points and measuring techniques. For the LTT and the FAU a much higher visibility can be achieved in the research community.
