Scientific Abstract

The FLIEG project is a teacher qualification project of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, with the aim to prepare teachers of Bavarian high schools for a state examination in computer science (additional examination) in e-learning courses within two to four years (depending on personal circumstances).

The qualification program is structured in modules covering predominantly school-relevant contents of computer science (e.g. data modeling, process modeling and object-oriented modeling), most of which are acquired through self-study using prepared e-learning materials. At the beginning of the course, the background knowledge for teaching computer science in grades 9 and 10 is taught, whereby the depth of the content taught is already aimed at the state examination. In the further course, a targeted preparation for the contents of the state examination takes place. For selected topics, face-to-face training sessions are integrated (e.g. in the area of theoretical computer science).

The course participants are mentored by the university throughout the course. All modules are concluded with an examination.
