Searching for the optimal product configuration, the product developers usually fail with the use of existing design methods to the complex relationship between the requirements, design parameters (characteristics) and the behavior (properties) of a mechatronic product. In this context, the present technology transfer project, EFRE/OptMePro, deals with the topic of how the product developer can be supported by changing the requirements of a mechatronic product through automation technologies. The overall goal of the technology transfer project is the development of a novel design methodology, with which existing mechatronic systems can be adapted automatically as a result of changing the requirements.
