Megaliths and Settlement Structures in Eastern Holstein during 3500-3700 BC: Trave Valley and Oldenburger Graben
The area of the Funnelbeaker culture in Ostholstein is characterized by coastal and inland settlements.  Comparative investigations in the central Travetal and the western Oldenburger Graben will provide information about dimensions, functions and economic patterns of the Funnelbeaker settlements. The optimal wetland conditions allow for a reconstruction of subsistence behavior and social structures, especially through a connection to investigations of surrounding Megalithic tombs.  These will be a subject of investigation in specific excavations through which their locations and grave goods should be correlated to the settlements.
