Kathrin M. Möslein is Vice President at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and Chair Professor of Information Systems with a focus on Innovation and Value Creation at FAU’s School of Business, Economics and Society. Her work bridges information systems, strategy, and innovation research, with a particular emphasis on the design and governance of innovation systems and ecosystems.

She has held a wide range of senior academic leadership roles at national and international levels. These include serving as Associate Director of the Advanced Institute of Management Research (AIM) at London Business School, Dean of Research at FAU’s School of Business, Economics and Society, a member of the Business School Panel of the UK Research Excellence Framework (REF), Vice President of the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM), and Vice President and President of the European Academy of Management (EURAM). In recognition of her contributions, EURAM appointed her as its first German Fellow in 2015.

Kathrin Möslein currently serves, among others, as a member of the Executive Board of the European University Alliance EELISA, the Advisory Board of the UK Manufacturing Forum at the University of Cambridge, the Standing Committee on Transfer and Cooperation of the German Rectors’ Conference, the Board of the Leipzig Foundation for Innovation and Transfer, and the Strategy Council of the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency.

In addition, she is Research Professor and Academic Director of the Center for Leading Innovation and Cooperation (CLIC) at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and a member of the Executive Board and Head of the Research Advisory Board of the Nuremberg Institute of Market Decisions. Since the early 1990s, she has been researching, teaching, and advising in the field of strategic innovation. Her current research focuses on innovation strategies and technologies as well as the design, development, and engineering of innovation ecosystems.
