Abstract

Since every reaction at a prochiral ion must take place in close proximity to its counterion, it should be possible to transfer chiral information between the ions of an ionic liq. Indeed, the hydrogenation of a prochiral, keto-functionalized cation was found to proceed in the presence of (R)-camphorsulfonate in up to 80% ee. [on SciFinder(R)]
