Abstract

For a successful collaboration between humans and robotic assistants in a shared workspace, users must be enabled to intuitively understand robotic data and work processes, to easily operate the robot while being protected from harm by safety systems. This article introduces an assistance system employed in sheltered workshops that achieves these goals using Augmented Reality, novel input devices, and automatic collision avoidance.
