Abstract

The content of the thesis aims at the creation of ready-to-use technology solutions which bring about an increase in both technical availability and welding quality for industrially used Nd: YAG laser micro-welding systems. For this purpose, a new, multisensory diagnostic system for beam guidance and shaping was developed. Based on trained neural networks and fuzzy technology, robust tools for automatic process monitoring and process control could then be created. The final development of solutions for online control of the micro-welding process ensures that the error rate is minimized and that the depth of the weld seam is sufficient for the single pulse lap joint.
