Sheet hydroforming enables the manufacturing of lightweight components of complex shape, using single and double sheets. This book investigates the relationships between part shape, sheet material, process parameters and forming results using analytical models, finite elements analysis and laboratory trials. In particular the hereby developed hydroforming shape and material factors together with an analytical model of the constrained bulging represent some effective and useful methods for the process engineer. They enable the definition of guidelines for “design for hydroforming“ the choice of an appropriate material combination in double sheet hydroforming and the prediction of the process parameters during the forming operation.
