Abstract

The present work develops a hybrid Welding method for polymers employing laser Radiation as well as Radiation emitted by halogen lamps. lt is based upon the conventional laser Transmission contour Welding, with its process stability and Efficiency being increased by the hybrid Irradiation System. In the work, a hybrid Welding System will be introduced and the influence of the hybrid Irradiation principle on the seam strength, the gap-bridging ability and the Formation of residual stresses will be investigated. Enhancing the conventional laser Transmission Welding by the hybrid variant, Welding large and complexly shaped products shall become feasible now.
