Abstract

The tribological conditions in forming processes determine product quality as well as tool life. Within this work the influence of a laser textured tool surface on tribology is investigated. By applying a suitable surface topography the lubricant used during the process works better and remains for a longer period. As a result tool life is increased significantly.
