Abstract

The thesis investigated the interdependencies between tool machining, surface integrity and the resulting behavior of cold forging tools. In laboratory tests a distinct influence of the tool surface on the frictional and fatigue behavior could be detected. Serial production tests proved the usability of the gained functional correlations for an increase of tool life.
