Abstract

By the means of Tailored Heat Treated Blanks (THTB) the forming limits of aluminum alloys can be enhanced significantly, which in turn allows more cost efficient manufacturing processes. The dissertation covers the local heat flow - material interactions, which occur creating the THTB, as well as the pertaining process windows and design principles.
