Abstract

The scope of this work was the research of maximumstressed cold forging tools, where fatigue as well as wear arise and lead to an early tool failure. Therefore the treatments Hard Roller Burnishing, Heat Treatment by Laser as well as Laser Texturing were tested. On the basis of basic studies the effective applicability of the surface treatment procedures at high-strength materials in cold forging was proven and example tools were successfully used in serial production.
