Abstract

In the manufacturing processes for making failure-free assemblies, the use of simulation-based methods is especially warranted. Significant benefits can be realized through simulation, because complex and expensive process adjustments as well as tool and product changes may be kept to a minimum. To maximize savings in vehicle development, the entire manufacturing process needs significant improvements in failure prediction. In this thesis a procedure is described to carry out a failure prediction for bending and roller hemming processes taking into account the forming history.
