Climate change, resource scarcity and progressing urbanization give rise to challenges in the development of contemporary mobility solutions. In this context, electrically powered vehicles are becoming increasingly important. Innovative micromobility solutions can contribute to resource-, environment- and infrastructure-friendly passenger transport, especially in urban areas. This paper presents such a solution in the form of an electrified cross skate with a steerable front axle. The electric drive can compensate for the relatively high rolling resistance of conventional cross-skates, while the steering enables easier cornering. As another special feature, the skate has a hybrid driving mode in which the rider moves by muscle power in the skating technique with support of an electric motor.
