Abstract

Product development is undergoing a transformation. The paradigm of virtual product development is increasingly moving towards digital engineering. However, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) face problems in optimising their processes by integrating data-driven methods due to a lack of approaches for focused process analysis and method identification. The proposed approach provides a structured process to support the integration of data-driven methods in product development. The focus is on finding use cases in existing and established processes and on selecting suitable methods.
